v0.5.2
Latest
October 2026
Just your recording, edge to edge.
Set Window Padding to None on the Zoom tab and the video is exactly what you captured, in its own shape, with nothing around it. Auto-zoom still moves in on the action.
- Show or hide the cursor — a new checkbox on the Cursor tab; zooms still follow your pointer either way.
- Truer cursor shapes — dragging shows an open or closed hand, and a crosshair records as a crosshair.
- Small touches — the recorder bar opens right below the editor, and vertical and square projects reopen in their saved shape.
Log out and back in once after installing to pick up the new cursor shapes.
v0.5.1
September 2026
A cursor with character.
The cursor is on screen for your whole video. Now you choose how it looks — and it can do a little more than point.
- Five cursor styles — macOS-, Windows- and Ubuntu-style cursors to match what you're demoing, plus two designer sets, Phinger and Mocu.
- Cursor aim — the arrow turns to face where it's heading and settles when you stop, so movement is easy to follow.
- Name tag — pin your name, or any short label, to the cursor in a color you pick.
Existing projects open just as you left them. Find the new options in the Cursor tab.
v0.5.0
September 2026
Record at your display's full refresh rate.
Recordings now match your monitor — a 120 Hz display captures at a true 120 frames a second, automatically, and the smoothness carries through playback and export.
- Smooth under load — recordings stay fluid while GPU-heavy apps — 3D tools, game engines — are hard at work.
- Game-ready capture — apps that hide or lock the mouse pointer record cleanly, with a proper pointer track from the moment the cursor reappears.
- Steadier takes — fixed recordings on some multi-GPU machines ending after a few seconds with a cursor warning.
After installing, log out and back in once — pointer tracking in games needs the updated Screenray desktop extension.
v0.4.0
July 2026
Export a video, share a link.
With the new Sendio add-on, finishing an export puts a share link straight on your clipboard — the video is live at that link the moment it appears. Plans from $2/month, managed from your account; the editor never requires it.
- Sendio sharing — export → upload → link, all in one dialog, with your library and viewing meters in your account.
- A cleaner window — Screenray draws its own window controls now.
- Instant timeline — your recording appears the moment capture stops.
- Truer exports — the background blur in your file now matches the preview exactly.
Sharing needs this build or newer — grab it from your account.
v0.3.1
July 2026
Smoother recording on high-refresh displays.
On a 120 Hz or 240 Hz monitor, Screenray now captures a full 60 frames a second — fluid scrolling, fluid cursor, carried all the way through to your export.
- Full-rate capture on high-refresh panels.
- Exact cursor sizing — the pointer in your export is the size the editor showed you, at every export resolution.
Recordings made before this build keep their original timing; re-record to pick up the smoother motion.
v0.3.0
July 2026
Screenray goes paid — $30, yours forever.
The beta is over. Screenray is now a one-time $30 purchase: buy it, grab the registration code from your account, and activate the app on up to 3 machines. No subscription, and every future build in this series is a free download from your account.
- Registration-code activation replaces the beta sign-in. Activate once per machine; after that the app never needs the network.
- Account area at screenray.app/account — your code, your downloads, one place.
- Everything the beta built ships in the box: automatic cursor zoom, the Look, word-perfect captions, webcam bubble, background music, noise reduction, crop & reframe, device recording & mockups, 4K MP4 / vertical / GIF export.
Earlier beta history was retired with the beta program itself. If you tested Screenray during the beta — thank you; you shaped it.
